Mo Hutton Testimonial Match
Saturday 3rd October 2026
KDM Group East End Park
~ Guard of Honour

With five players absent on international duty with their countries the remaining Pars squad took on a strong Aberdeen side in this Testimonial match for Mo Hutton.

Absentees meant starts for John Tod, Aaron Donnelly, Kian Corbally, Charlie Gilmour and Keith Bray. The sides and mascots formed a guard of honour as the kit man of 33 years walked through them to acknowledge the welcome.

It was a fairly even first half with both sides playing good football without really troubling the goalkeepers for the first half hour. Bray had come close in sixth minute only to be kept out by the right goalpost and Gilmour flashed a powerful effort narrowly wide on the quarter hour.

The Dons would have been disappointed when they failed to penetrate the home defence from setplays in 18, 20 and 27th minutes but celebrated opening the scoring when Jack MILNE headed home at the back post from a Connor Ronan corner from the left. 0-1

Dunfermline pushed to get back on level terms before the interval. They forced their first corner with five minutes of the half remaining, taken short it eventually reached Tod for a deflected shot that Daniel Klein held.
It was Tod who next came close with a superb overhead kick that the Dons German goalkeeper blocked and then denied the follow up from Morrison.

The keeper then pulled off a good save from Gilmour`s powerful effort before BRAY found the net in 44th minute. It was Nurudeen Abdulai who created danger in the Aberdeen box and after a Klein parried Bray`s first shot to keep the Pars out, the 20 year-old from the Western Isles netted with his second to put his team level.

It had been a good first half with play flowing nicely from end to end but Dunfermline were well worthy of being on level terms at the break.

Half Time: Dunfermline 1 Aberdeen 1

It was the same Dunfermline eleven that came out for the second half Aberdeen made eight changes for the restart. Immediately this version of Aberdeen looked much hungrier and in 47 minutes they retook the lead. Two minutes later he was not to be denied. The 24 year-old Moroccan Ayoub MOULOUA turned up the pace to burst into the left side of the Pars box, win back the ball in a tackle and sink the ball into the bottom right. 1-2

Another Aberdeen goal followed in 61 minutes when debutante Frenchman Hicham Mahou on the left cut the ball back and MOULOUA smacked the ball home off the crossbar. 1-3. Aberdeen added a fourth in 82nd minute with Mouloua supplying the ball that Lewis SMITH netted. Not even Pars super sub Josh Cooper could provide a second Dunfermline goal, his 88th minute shot clearing the crossbar with the final chance of the game.

It was a good work out for both teams ahead of their return to competitive action the following week, the scoreline maybe flattering the Premiership side but they certainly demonstrated how to finish.

The quality of the football played by both sides was a fitting tribute to Mo Hutton, the only disappointment from the day was the low attendance of 1143 possibility not helped by only ten days notice of the fixture given to fans.
