Everyone associated with Dunfermline Athletic Football Club was delighted to hear confirmation of the permanent signing of goalkeeper Aston Oxborough from Motherwell. He joined for an undisclosed fee on an initial 2-year deal.
The 28-year-old returned to KDM Group East End Park following a hugely successful loan spell with the Pars last season, having kept 7 clean-sheets in 15 matches for Neil Lennon`s men.
Born in England and raised in Norfolk, Oxborough began his career at Norwich City, before moving to Scottish football in August 2022, joining Motherwell following a trial. In total he made 32 appearances for the Steelmen, keeping 7 clean-sheets in the process. Oxborough first arrived at KDM Group East End Park in February 2026, on loan, and made an immediate impact. He helped secure a 4th place finish in the Scottish Championship, ultimately losing out in the Premiership Play-Off Semi-Finals to Partick Thistle.
Oxborough also played a pivotal role in helping Athletic reach the Scottish Cup Final, after a memorable penalty shoot-out victory over Falkirk at Hampden.
