Dunfermline Athletic were delighted to announce the signing of 20 year old Chris Hamilton in June 2022. Made his debut for James McPake`s Pars v East Fife in the Premier Sports Cup on 8th July 2022.
The young midfielder is no stranger to East End Park having started his footballing journey with the Pars Foundation at their Mini Kickers classes at the age of 4.
Youth football with Crossgates Primrose resulted in a move to Hearts in 2009, making his way to a first team debut in May 2018 away to Kilmarnock.
Experience has also been gained with loan moves to Berwick Rangers, Cowdenbeath, Dumbarton, Stirling Albion and latterly a hugely successful season with Arbroath. Chris played 28 times in the 2021-2022 Championship season picking up the Arbroath supporters Young Player of the Year award.
Chris has also been capped by Scotland at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 age groups as well as captaining the Scotland under-16 Victory Shield squad.
Scored his first Dunfermline goal in the 1-1 draw with Alloa on 23 July 2022. Chris went on to be an ever present in Dunfermline teams, cleaning up in the 2023-2024 season winning Centenary Club Player of the Year Awards, Gary Riddell Players` Player of the Year, and Player of the Year Awards from the Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club, Dunfermline Athletic Disabled Supporters Club, Pars Supporters Trust, 1885 Business Club and Section North West.
Chris always gave 100% effort and had a penchant for picking up yellow cards. He was a passionate vice captain and led the team out in the absence of Kyle Benedictus. Of his 32 appearances in the 2025-2026 season, 15 were off the bench and his last appearance was in the Premiership Play-Off against Arbroath. Was an unused sub for the 2026 Scottish Cup Final before leaving in May 2026 to join Ross County.
