On 29th January 2026 Graham Carey was signed on loan from Livingston until the end of the season. He made his Dunfermline debut coming off the bench to play in the Championship match at home to Airdrieonians two days later.
The 36-year-old Dubliner brought a wealth of experience to KDM Group East End Park, having made over 500 senior appearances across an impressive career spanning two decades and multiple countries.
Carey began his professional journey with Celtic in 2005 after progressing through the Shelbourne youth system in his native Ireland. During his time at Parkhead, he was a regular fixture in the Bhoys` youth and reserve teams before embarking on a career that would take him from Scotland to England and Bulgaria.
The left-sided attacking midfielder enjoyed a particularly successful spell at Plymouth Argyle, where he made close to 200 appearances for the Pilgrims. He also spent time with CSKA Sofia, making 106 appearances for the Bulgarian side and collecting a 2021 Bulgaria Cup winners` medal while also competing in European competition.
In Scottish football, Carey has represented St Johnstone (117 appearances), St Mirren, Ross County and most recently Livingston, accumulating significant Premier League experience along the way. His time at St Mirren proved particularly fruitful as he helped the Buddies lift the League Cup, while his stunning long-range strike against Hearts during the 2012-13 season was named Scottish Premier League Goal of the Season.
A former Republic of Ireland youth international with six caps at U21 level, Carey is renowned for his ability to produce spectacular goals from distance and his creative influence in the final third.
