Dunfermline Athletic were pleased to announce the loan signing of Olly Thomas on 7th January 2026 and he made his debut starting in the 1-0 Scottish Cup win over Hibernian.
The striker joined up for the remainder of the season from EFL Championship side Bristol City.
Following the end of his two-year long academy contract, Olly Thomas signed a one-year contract at Bristol City in July 2025.
The forward was one of six academy graduates to signing professional deals back in March 2023, signing a two-year deal with the Robins. Born in Bristol and raised in Bradley Stoke, Olly Thomas played for Mangotsfield and South Gloucestershire before joining City at Under-16 level. He has been loaned out to several clubs to gain experience.
In January 2023 Olly joined Bath City on loan for the remainder of the 2022-23 season. The following season he went out on-loan to National League South club, Yeovil Town and then to League Two side Newport County only to be recalled by Bristol City in November. In January 2024, Olly Thomas re-joined Yeovil Town on-loan until the end of season 2023-2024.
This season the 20-year-old made his senior league debut for Bristol City with three appearances off the bench for City in October and November 2025. Before leaving Bristol to travel north, Olly signed a two-and-a-half-year contract extension with Bristol City until the summer of 2028.
